Tickets and passes

Single tickets are only valid for the chosen screening. A day pass provides access to all screenings on the chosen day of the festival. A festival pass provides access to all screenings of the festival.

Children (ages 6)

The reduced ticket price is for children up to and including twelve years who attend the Shorts for Kids and Sparks Junior. Adults pay the regular price. Members of the Magic Lantern can obtain their free ticket online or at the festival box office at blue Cinema Maxx and Kino Cameo.

Pre-sales

Pre-sales begin on 15 October 2025 and end one hour before the start of the screening. Tickets are available online or from the Tourist Information at Winterthur railway station.

Where to buy tickets

Single tickets and day passes can be purchased online at kurzfilmtage.ch, from the Tourist Information at Winterthur railway station, or as of Tue, 4 Nov at the Ticket Desk at blue Cinema Maxx and Kino Cameo. Festival passes are only available online, from the Tourist Information, or at the Accreditation Desk at Museum Schaffen during the festival. Festival passes purchased before the festival must be exchanged for a personal pass at the Accreditation Desk at Museum Schaffen (festival pass vouchers do not allow access to screenings). Cash payments are possible at the Accreditation Desk.

Doors / admission

Doors open 30 minutes before the start of the screening. Seats are not numbered; early arrival is recommended.

Reservations for day-pass and festival-pass holders

Seats can be reserved from 09:00 on the day before the screening until the start of the screening. Unclaimed reservations lose their validity at the scheduled showtime and will be released for sale. 

ZVV ticket for free public transport

Thanks to Zürcher Kantonalbank, all festival tickets include free public transport to and from the festival within the ZVV network. Each ticket is valid for a second-class round trip on the day of the screening.

Languages / subtitles

Films are shown in their original language and subtitled in English, except where otherwise indicated in the programme. The Family Programmes are subtitled in German or dubbed live.

Age limits

Unless otherwise noted, the general lower age limit for the film screenings is 16. Exceptions: Sparks I (ages 12+), Sparks Junior(ages 9+), and Shorts for Kids (ages 6+).
