The thematic and formal variety of short films represents a broad range of filmmaking. Our programmes for children and youth typically contain about six to eight films offering diverse perspectives. Emotions, unusual role models, alternative lifestyles, and glimpses into foreign cultures serve to inspire animated discussions in the classroom and beyond. Our offers for youth, teachers, and youth workers can be booked separately or in combination.
Expert visits in the classroom (secondary school)
Our film experts offer half-day introductions to cinematic storytelling, exploring elements of filmmaking such as cinematography, sound, and editing with the help of numerous examples – right in the classroom.
Private screenings for school groups
During the festival, Kurzfilmtage screens programmes for children and youth at all grade levels, from first grade to secondary level II, offering students the opportunity to experience an internationally renowned film festival first-hand.
Teaching materials
Teachers who book an expert visit or a group screening receive free access to our teaching materials and streaming access to the youth programmes. Access can also be purchased separately.
