Nsala
Mickael-sltan Mbanza / Congo, the Republic of/Congo, Dem. Rep. (ex Zaire) 2025 / 10'19" / DCP / black & white / Swahili / Exp
«Nsala» plays with colonial archives and contemporary footage to fictionally recount the story of a couple recruited to work in a mine under colonial rule. Rather than simply interpreting a life suspended in a colonial image, the film blends reality and imagination to transcend the past. Through this silent portrait, it explores the politics of colonial erasure and the dehumanizing machinery of exploitation, offering a renewed perspective on buried histories.

Inherited Silence
Mariam Khatchvani / Georgia 2025 / 14'37" / DCP / colour / Georgian / Fic
Life follows its routines in a small Georgian village during the festive days of Christmas and the New Year. Nata and Dato's family appears harmonious by local standards, but beneath the surface lies turmoil. After enduring yet another violent incident at the hands of her husband, Nata decides to leave, only to face unexpected opposition from village women who pressure her to maintain the façade of normality. This intimate portrait reveals her quiet struggle for dignity against deeply ingrained societal expectations.

Ms. Understoned
Yuki Buma / Japan 2024 / 11' / DCP / colour / Japanese / Exp/Ani
By photographing a mirror with clay attached to it from a blind spot, I created a single form using both the reflected world and the clay. In Japanese health education textbooks, women are described as becoming «rounded». This expression evokes a stone floating down a river. Human bones cannot be sculpted like stones. We grow up inside the frameworks shaped by society, convincing ourselves that we cannot live without them – whether imposed by others or built by ourselves. Words and actions trapped in these frameworks hurt the heart, turning mirrors into walls.

I Can't Think of Anything Right Now
Hussen Ibraheem / Germany/Argentina/Lebanon 2025 / 11' / DCP / colour / Arabic/English / Fic/Doc
It’s raining heavily as a driver sets off to transport a passenger to what should be their final destination. But a wrong turn leads them into a surreal, fractured journey shaped by memory, displacement, and a divine mistake – one that forces a choice: to forget the past or carry its weight forever. «Between the Roads» is a haunting meditation on exile, identity, and the search for belonging in the liminal space between worlds left behind and lives yet to begin.
