Pitching Session: P.AiR.S Project Development Residency

Kurzfilmtage is again awarding a Project Development Residency sponsored by  P.AiR.S for an independent Swiss short film production. The residency consists of a seven-week stay in Sigriswil from 5/1/26 to 22/2/26 and is aimed at filmmakers (writers/directors) with a short film project in development.

During the residency period, the selected project will also automatically take part in the Perspektiven Lab of the 61st Solothurner Filmtage. The Perspektiven Lab enables eight projects to exchange ideas with experts from the Swiss and international film industry in one-to-one discussions and selects two projects that will be honoured with a development grant of CHF 5000.– each donated by Suissimage and SSA.

On Saturday, 8 November 2025, a three-person jury of experts will select a project during a pitching session at Kurzfilmtage. The winner will be announced the same evening at the Industry Awards Ceremony. A team of Kurzfilmtage representatives selects the projects for the pitching session prior to the festival; participants will receive professional pitching training on Friday, 7 November.

The residency supports the development of an independent, professional Swiss short film production. Fiction, documentary, animation, experimental, and art film projects are eligible. The film’s length must not exceed 30 minutes.

Swiss or Swiss resident graduates of a Swiss or international film school are eligible. In exceptional cases, former students of other degree programmes in the field of visual cultures (visual arts, visual anthropology, etc.) may also be admitted. The degree (BA or MA) must not have been awarded more than 2.5 years ago at the time of the pitching in November. Projects that have already participated in Solothurner Filmtage’s Perspektiven Lab in the past cannot be considered.
